Each month, we’ll be introducing you to one of iQ’s members or staff. We hope that by sharing their stories, you’ll get to know our culture and the people who make our workspaces so great. This month, we interviewed Sarah Morgenstern, Director of Business Development at Cubane Consulting. Be sure to check the blog each month to see who we feature next!
Tell us about your company and your role within it.
Cubane Consulting is a management consultancy, headquartered in Australia, focused on helping higher education sector understand the efficiency and effectiveness of their support services through our unique, collaborative benchmarking program. As Director of Development, I led the start-up of the Canadian practice and am now focused on expanding our client base in Canada, establishing ourselves in the US market and global marketing and branding.
How did you get to the position you’re in now?
I worked as a management consultant for AT Kearney and Deloitte Consulting for 15 years before starting up a digital media company in Toronto. We were acquired in 2014 and while I was enjoying my ‘retirement’, I was connected to Cubane, which was looking for someone to lead the expansion into Canada, by an old colleague from AT Kearney. The opportunity to combine my consulting experience, my start-up experience and my interest in higher education was a perfect fit for me and it’s been a great experience helping Cubane get successfully established in Canada.
We looked at a lot of office spaces before finding iQ but none of them were very inspiring. The great location, the natural light, the sleek spaces, the welcoming staff at iQ and of course the trail mix bar were standouts for us.

My obsession with being organized and making sure things get crossed off the to-do list, whatever they may be.
